What to do in Plomari

The birthplace of ouzo has so much more to offer than great food and superb ouzo by the sea. Take a stroll down the alleys and see the old fountains, the refurbished soap factory which is now a museum and the cultural center of Plomari, hosting many exhibitions and events. Explore the area’s history by visiting the Museum of Ouzo – Varvayianni, the Folklore Museum, the old Basilica of St. Nicolas and the church of Agia Paraskevi. Or take a boat and find the hidden church on the rocks called Panagia Kryfti, swim in the nearby beach of Nyfida, walk the trails of the northern Plomari and visit the farm of Toumba for some horse riding or a yoga session up the mountains.
