SUMMARY:1st Molyvos International Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:[ακολουθεί η ανακοίνωση στα Ελληνικά] \nA unique festival is being born this summer for the north Aegean region. The Molyvos International Music Festival (MIMF) brings together some of the greatest international stars and young talents for a three-day celebration of world-class classical music in the beautiful island of Lesbos\, Greece. \nTaking place 19th\, 20th & 21st August\, the festival is founded and led by artistic directors Danae and Kiveli Dörken\, rising star Greek/German pianists from Lesbos who have already significant European careers. Their love for 2 things – music and Molyvos – has spurred the creation of a unique festival that fuses the universal language of classical music with the magical atmosphere and setting of Molyvos\, captivating audiences with the fresh energy and virtuosity of today’s most passionate\, exciting and communicative musicians. \nIn this inaugural year\, the artistic directors have built a fascinating programme around the theme Metamorphoses\, which is “not only our musical theme\, but also the goal of our festival”\, say the sisters. “Each title of our four concerts represent different stages of Metamorphosis: ‘A New Era’\, ‘Spirited Youth’\, ‘Transformation’ and ‘Afterlife’. We chose musical works in which either the composer or the composition itself undergo a certain kind of transformation (for example\, Strauss’ Metamorphosen\, Smetana’s From my Life or Mahler’s 4th Symphony). The works give us an insight into the composers’ thoughts and emotions of the different paths that we can choose to follow.” \nThey go on to explain: “We envisage Metamorphosis not only in music but to become a state of being in Molyvos\, where the village transforms itself into a place of creativity. There is Metamorphosis within the Artist – being engulfed by the unrivalled setting of the festival – and then Metamorphosis within the Listener – internalising and drawing inspiration from music”. \nThe festival will include 3 evening concerts in the entrancing byzantine Molyvos Castle\, as well as several other events such as the Friday lunchtime concert\, the ‘Young People’s Concert’ and engaging ‘Molyvos Musical Moments’ in beautiful surprise-spots around the village. The 2015 artists’ rostrum is impressive and includes today’s leading rising-stars\, such as clarinetist Sebastian Manz\, violinists Caroline Goulding and Hyeyoon Park\, cellists Benedict Klöckner and Danjulo Ishizaka and conductor Joolz Gale\, alongside world famous soloists such as German soprano Marlis Petersen and Greek saxophonist Theodore Kerkezos. \nThe festival is under the auspices of the North Aegean Region and is realized by co-founder and festival development manager\, Dimitris Tryfon a young entrepreneur who originates from Lesbos island. \nMIMF is supported by an advisory board of internationally acclaimed figures\, including the British conductor Sir Roger Norrington and the German pianist/conductor Lars Vogt. \nUtilising the timeless allure of Molyvos\, MIMF provides an ideal environment for experiencing classical music in a delightful village setting. Ο συνδυασμός αυτός τις ώθησε να δημιουργήσουν ένα Φεστιβάλ που στον πυρήνα του συνυπάρχει η διαχρονικότητα της κλασικής μουσικής με τη φρεσκάδα του σήμερα\, η δεξιοτεχνία στην ερμηνεία με την ελευθερία στην προσέγγιση. \nΣυνιδρυτής & αρωγός του Φεστιβάλ είναι ο Δημήτρης Τρύφων\, νεαρός επιχειρηματίας με καταγωγή από τη Λέσβο. \nΓια αυτή την πρώτη χρονιά του Φεστιβάλ δημιουργούν ένα συναρπαστικό πρόγραμμα με θέμα τις «Μεταμορφώσεις» καλώντας ταλαντούχους και ήδη διάσημους ερμηνευτές της γενιάς τους\, όπως o Γερμανός κλαρινετίστας Σεμπάστιαν Μαντς\, η Αμερικανίδα βιολονίστρια Κάρολαϊν Γκούλντινγκ\, ο Γερμανός βιολοντσελίστας Μπένεντικτ Κλέκνερ και ο Βρετανός διευθυντής ορχήστρας Τζουλζ Γκέηλ να συμπράξουν με μεγάλα ονόματα της παγκόσμιας κλασικής μουσικής σκηνής\, όπως η Γερμανίδα σοπράνο Μάρλις Πέτερσεν και ο διεθνής μας σαξοφωνίστας Θεόδωρος Κερκέζος\, σε συναυλίες και μικρά ιντερλούδια που θα δοθούν στο πανέμορφο κάστρο αλλά και σε γραφικά σημεία-έκπληξη του οικισμού. \nΤο Φεστιβάλ τελεί υπό την αιγίδα της Περιφέρειας Βορείου Αιγαίου. \nΑξιοποιώντας την διαχρονική σαγήνη του Μολύβου\, το Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Μουσικής Μολύβου προσφέρει το ιδανικό περιβάλλον για να βιώσει κανείς την κλασική μουσική σε ένα μαγευτικό τοπίο. Σε μια περίοδο οικονομικής και κοινωνικής κρίσης\, το Φεστιβάλ είναι έμπρακτη απόδειξη πως η μουσική μπορεί να εμπνεύσει\, να συνδέσει και να ενώσει τους ανθρώπους\, κοινό και μουσικούς από όλο τον κόσμο. \nΠολύτιμος συνεργάτης του Φεστιβάλ είναι ο Φορέας Τουρισμού Μολύβου “The Other Aegean”. \nΌπως αναφέρουν η Δανάη και η Κυβέλη Ντέρκεν «Οι Μεταμορφώσεις δεν είναι μόνο το μουσικό θέμα του Φεστιβάλ\, αλλά και ο στόχος του. Επιλέξαμε έργα στα οποία είτε ο συνθέτης είτε η ίδια η σύνθεση βιώνουν ένα είδος μεταμόρφωσης. (π.χ. Μεταμορφώσεις του Στράους\, Από τη Ζωή μου του Σμέτανα\, Τέταρτη συμφωνία του Μάλερ) Αυτά τα κομμάτια μας επιτρέπουν μια κλεφτή ματιά στις σκέψεις και τα συναισθήματα του συνθέτη και μας δείχνουν διαφορετικά μονοπάτια που μπορούμε να επιλέξουμε. Επιπλέον\, το ρεπερτόριο και οι τίτλοι των τεσσάρων μας συναυλιών αντιπροσωπεύουν διαφορετικά στάδια μεταμόρφωσης μέσα στη ζωή. \nΚατά την διάρκεια του Φεστιβάλ επιδιώκουμε η μεταμόρφωση να συμβεί μέσα από τη μουσική σε πολλά επίπεδα. Ο Μόλυβος μεταμορφώνεται μέσα από το Φεστιβάλ σε τόπο κλασικής μουσικής\, ο καλλιτέχνης μεταμορφώνεται μέσα από τη μοναδική ομορφιά του Μολύβου\, ο ακροατής μεταμορφώνεται και αντλεί έμπνευση μέσα από τη μουσική που παρουσιάζεται με μια φρέσκια προσέγγιση». \nΣτους στόχους του Φεστιβάλ είναι να κάνει την κλασική μουσική πιο προσιτή σε ανθρώπους όλων των ηλικιών με πρωτότυπες εκδηλώσεις\, διαδραστικά δρώμενα μέσα στο χωριό του Μολύβου\, ειδικά διαμορφωμένες συναυλίες και μουσικά εργαστήρια για παιδιά και νέους.
