The Molyvos Tourism Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Lesvos and Lesvos Ride, are happy to announce the 3rd bicycle tour of Molyvos (Molyvos Urban MTB Race, on Saturday, May 21^st, and Sunday, May 22nd, 2016.

Imagine a route within the unique “alleys” of Molyvos, beneath the majestic Wisteria, surrounded by colorful gardens and mansions… next to stone fountains and monuments of cultural significance… through the historic market place with its shops, taverns with hanging balconies overlooking the Aegean…from the traditional port up to the Byzantine castle. Now let’s make this a reality… by bike!

Just like every year, this year the cycling tour of Molyvos is being upgraded. As a result of the great appeal it had to our elderly and young fans of bicycling, this year we are happy to announce that we will have 2 full days of bicycling events.

Thus, at 5pm on Saturday, May 21^st, at the woods above the football field of Molyvos, our young friends and bicycle enthusiasts will be able to take place in specially designed tracks and to participate in the bicycle activities organized by Lesvos ride, according to their age groups. Children between 5 and 14 may participate.

Sunday, May 22^nd, 2016

On Sunday, May 22^nd, 2016 at 10:30, the 3rd Bicycle Tour of Molyvos will take place. The commencement of the race will be on the road going towards Eftalou, at the woods above the football field. There will be 4 competitor categories:

CONTEST CATEGORIES

1) Junior from 15 to 18 years of age

2) Men from 18 to 40 years of age

3) Veterans from 40 years old and up

4) Women for women of all ages

The Sunday route will take place along the graphic cobblestoned “alleys” of Molyvos, the historic market place-the “Agora”, the Platano, above the harbor, along the walls of the Byzantine castle, through dirt paths and steps, finally returning to the starting point.

A prerequisite for participation is the completion of “A Statement of Acknowledgement and Affirmation” by adults and for children, the presence of a parent or official guardian is necessary. The ‘Statement of Acknowledgement and Affirmation” can from the site of The Tourism Association of Molyvos:

HELMETS MUST BE WORN THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE RACE AND PARTICIPANTS FOUND NOT WEARING A HELMET WILL BE CANCELLED AUTOMATICALLY.

• The participation fee amounts to 15 € and is valid only for the long route and for the categories: Junior, Men, Women and Veterans. Children under 15 years of age racing upon the two smaller paths will not pay any participation fees.

• The cost of participation will be reduced to 10€ for competitors competing on the long route who will register by Thursday, May 19th, 2016.

All participants on the day of the race must be at the Secretariat one hour prior to the start of the race so as to receive their numbers and to confirm their participation.

Awards Ceremony

All awards will take place at the end of the Bicycling Race. The 3 first place winners in each category will receive a trophy and medals will be awarded to 4^th, 5^th and 6^th place runner ups. All competitors will receive commemorative certificates of participation.

Discounts-Offers

The company BLUE STAR FERRIES provides a discount of 50% for the transportation of athletes and their escorts to and from the island of Lesvos for the 3^rd Bicycle Tour of Molyvos – 3rd Molyvos Urban MTB Race.

The discount will be provided according to availability.

For reservations of seats and for tickets, kindly contact in advance (at least 3 working days prior to departure) the relevant Port Office in Piraeus, Ticket Agency GIOVANTI, Tel. 210 4119171 or the Port Office in Mytilene, PICOLO TRAVEL, Tel. 22510 27000. For reservation of seats and tickets on the same date of departure of the boat, a discount will not be available.

Ο Φορέας Τουρισμού Μολύβου σε συνεργασία με το Νομικό Πρόσωπο Πολιτισμού Αθλητισμού και Τουρισμού του Δήμου Λέσβου, την Δημοτική Ενότητα Μήθυμνας, και με την υποστήριξη της Περιφέρειας Β. Αιγαίου και του Lesvos Ride συνδιοργανώνουν τον 3ο ποδηλατικό γύρο Μολύβου (3rd Molyvos Urban MTB Race ) το Σάββατο 21 και την Κυριακή 22 Μαΐου 2016.

Φανταστείτε μία διαδρομή στα μοναδικά σοκάκια του Μολύβου, κάτω από το μαγευτικό σαλκίμι, ανάμεσα από πολύχρωμες αυλές και παραδοσιακά αρχοντικά, δίπλα από πέτρινες κρήνες και πολιτιστικά μνημεία. Μέσα από το ιστορικό κέντρο με τα μαγαζιά, τις ταβέρνες και τα κρεμαστά μπαλκόνια τους, στο παραδοσιακό λιμανάκι και ως το κάστρο. Τώρα ας την κάνουμε πραγματικότητα ταξιδεύοντας…. πάνω σε δύο ρόδες!

Όπως κάθε χρόνο έτσι και φέτος ο ποδηλατικός γύρος Μολύβου αναβαθμίζεται.

Μετά την μεγάλη απήχηση από τους μεγάλους και μικρούς φίλους της ποδηλασίας φέτος για πρώτη φορά θα έχουμε διήμερο ποδηλατικών δράσεων .

Έτσι το απόγευμα του Σαββάτου 21 Μαΐου στις 5:00μμ στο δασάκι στο γήπεδο οι μικροί μας φίλοι-ποδηλάτες μπορούν να λάβουν μέρος σε ειδικά διαμορφωμένες διαδρομές και να συμμετέχουν ανάλογα με την ηλικία τους στις ποδηλατικές δράσεις που θα γίνουν από το Lesvos ride. Τα παιδιά που μπορούν να λάβουν μέρος είναι από 5 μέχρι 14 ετών.

Κυριακή 22 Μαΐου 2016

Το πρωί της Κυριακής 22 Μαΐου 2016 στις 10:30πμ θα γίνει ο 3ος Ποδηλατικός γύρος Μολύβου. Το σημείο εκκίνησης είναι στο δασάκι πάνω από το γήπεδο στο δρόμο για την Εφταλού και θα υπάρξουν 4 κατηγορίες αγωνιζομένων:

ΕΦΗΒΩΝ        από 15 μέχρι 18 ετών

ΑΝΔΡΩΝ        από 18 μέχρι 40 ετών

ΒΕΤΕΡΑΝΩΝ  από 40 και πάνω

ΓΥΝΑΙΚΩΝ     όλες οι ηλικίες

Η διαδρομή της Κυριακής θα περνά μέσα από τα γραφικά πλακόστρωτα σοκάκια του χωριού, την αγορά, τον πλάτανο, πάνω από το λιμάνι, ως το κάστρο, και μέσα από μονοπάτια χωμάτινα και σκαλοπάτια, θα επιστρέφει στο σημείο εκκίνησης.

Απαραίτητη προϋπόθεση για συμμετοχή στις δράσεις του διημέρου είναι η υπεύθυνη δήλωση για ανήλικους και για παίδες, η παρουσία γονέα. Την υπεύθυνη δήλωση μπορείτε να την βρείτε στα σημεία που γίνονται οι προεγγραφές, καθώς και από την σελίδα του Φορέα Τουρισμού Μολύβου www.theotheraegean.com

ΤΟ ΚΡΑΝΟΣ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΥΠΟΧΡΕΩΤΙΚΟ ΣΕ ΟΛΗ ΤΗΝ ΔΙΑΡΚΕΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΑΓΩΝΑ ΚΑΙ Η ΜΗ ΧΡΗΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΑΚΥΡΩΝΕΙ ΤΟΝ ΑΓΩΝΙΖΟΜΕΝΟ.

Το κόστος συμμετοχής ανέρχεται στο ποσό των 15,00 € και ισχύει μόνο για την μεγάλη διαδρομή και για τις κατηγορίες Εφήβων, Ανδρών, Βετεράνων και Γυναικών. Τα παιδιά κάτω των 15 ετών που θα αγωνιστούν στις δυο μικρότερες διαδρομές, δεν θα πληρώσουν συμμετοχή.

Όσοι από τους αγωνιζομένους της μεγάλης διαδρομής δηλώσουν συμμετοχή μέχρι την Πέμπτη 19 Μαΐου 2016 το κόστος θα μειωθεί στα 10,00 €.

Όλοι οι ποδηλάτες πρέπει να είναι την ημέρα του αγώνα στο σημείο που θα βρίσκεται η γραμματεία μία ώρα πριν την εκκίνηση για να παραλάβουν τους αριθμούς και να οριστικοποιήσουν την συμμετοχή τους.

Απονομές

Οι απονομές θα πραγματοποιηθούν μετά το τέλος του γύρου. Θα δοθούν κύπελλα στους 3 πρώτους κάθε κατηγορίας και μετάλλια στους επομένους 3. Σε όλους τους αγωνιζομένους θα δοθεί αναμνηστικό συμμετοχής.

Η εταιρία BLUE STAR FERRIES παρέχει έκπτωση 50% στην μετακίνηση των αθλητών και των συνοδών τους από και προς το νησί της Λέσβου, στα πλαίσια της ποδηλατικής διοργάνωσης 3ος Ποδηλατικός γύρος Μολύβου – 3nd Molyvos Urban MTB Race.

Η έκπτωση παρέχεται αναλόγως διαθεσιμότητας.

Για κρατήσεις θέσεων και έκδοση εισιτηρίων παρακαλούμε όπως επικοινωνείτε έγκαιρα (τουλάχιστον τρεις εργάσιμες πριν την αναχώρηση) με το λιμενικό τους γραφείο στον Πειραιά, Πρακτορείο GIOVANTI, τηλ. 210 4119171 ή με το λιμενικό τους γραφείο στην Μυτιλήνη, PICOLO TRAVEL, τηλ. 22510 27000. Για κράτηση θέσεων και έκδοση εισιτήριων την ημέρα της αναχώρησης του πλοίου, δεν θα είναι δυνατή η παροχή έκπτωσης.

Τις επόμενες μέρες θα ακολουθήσουν ενημερώσεις για τις διαδρομές που θα ακολουθήσουν οι ποδηλάτες.

Επίσης παρακάτω αναφέρονται οι επιχειρήσεις μέλη που προσφέρουν ελκυστικά πακέτα διαμονής για τους αθλητές που θα συμμετέχουν στον αγώνα έως 30 ευρώ.
